Well it seems that after batting away at it for the last week... and with a bit of Jim's help to get the various bits and bobs working as they should- I've decided to kick my fledgling forum out into the wilds of the internet for you all to take a gander at. 
I used to have this web address set up as a portal site but I didn't have the time to update it as much as I'd have liked to. So instead, I decided to launch a forum site which covers all of my rather disjointed interests. So yes, the forum does have an angle... it's just that you'd probably have to be me to appreciate it. 
So what does the site cover? It covers technology, video games, programming, food, drink, film and TV, music, anime, comics and manga... and whatever else I decide to add at a later date.
Chat functionality is provided by Cbox and Jim's lovely integration mod.

I was also looking for a decent webring to link my site to and I came across 24HourForums site webring... but it seems after I registered that I was site #34 and they stopped validating new entries after site #10.
I've therefore launched my own webring that I hope you will all consider joining. It's called simply "The Forum Webring" and it's geared towards sites which have a community forum attatched to them. While those forums don't _have_ to be WowUltra... it doesn't hurt. 
I hope you will all consider adding your forums to our Webring.. I'm making it a point to be very proactive with getting sites listed as quickly as possible. Please just make sure that your forums are publicly acceptable.
So thank you all for wading through this.. I do hope to see some of you stop by the site and, perhaps, register yourselves an account.
