I made a blog about it. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fast and uses way less memory than FF and IE.

I have a new web browser! Just a copy and paste.

Google has released it’s own web browser: Google Chrome. Before Google Chrome, I was a huge fan of FireFox. The new release of FireFox was great but took way too much memory. Google Chrome comes with the functionality of FireFox but at a much lesser stress level for your PC. We at MMA Chump highly urge users to download google Chrome to view this site and all others.

Why should I use Google Chrome?

Crash Control - Every tab you’re using is run independently in the browser, so if one app crashes it won’t take anything else down.
Incognito Mode - Don’t want pages you visit to show up in your web history? Choose incognito mode for private browsing.
Safe Browsing - Google Chrome warns you if you’re about to visit a suspected phishing, malware or otherwise unsafe website.
Simpler Downloading - No intrusive download manager; you see your download’s status at the bottom of your current window.
New Tab Page - Every time you open a new tab, you’ll see a visual sampling of your most visited sites, most used search engines, and recently bookmarked pages and closed tabs.

So check out Google Chrome. It displays pages the same as Safari 3.1

    Well I tried it.

I am sad to see that you lose a whole bunch of features on the ultra boards. I would love to use something other than IE, but I miss all the features.

If it stays around and gains over 2% of the market I'll write an editor for it. I remember a time when everyone thought Netscape Communicator would be the biggest browser on the planet. Where are they now.

I'm surprised Firefox doesn't have a greater %. Looking at the stats for my forum, only 18% use FF while IE7 has 49% and IE6 users come to 26%. Mozilla/Safari only boost that by about 2%/
That's fairly typical each month and means that IE variants have a following of about 77%. For all the people I see everywhere promoting Firefox, 18% seems at odds with all the talk.

While we are on the subject, the stats page shows lots of older browsers in the list, ones that don't seem to be used any more (IE2, older Opera etc) according to the numbers. I wouldn't be too bothered if they dissapeared from the stats in a future upgrade.

It's only my opinion but I think that at the end of the day it's the front end of the browser that counts. It's eye appeal and ease of use plus facilities. There are so many piggy back browsers for IE that enhance it out of all recognition. Stable browsers that have all the facilities you need and with thousands of different themes for them. I have tried all of them but keep coming back to IE, well not IE exactly but IE based. I don't think Google has any more chance of substantially denting the browser market than any of the others. Basically they all seem to be fringe players according to the statistics. The mighty Microsoft juggernaught just rolls on and on.

We disagree here Martin. I am a HUGE Firefox user and supporter and for the first time ever there are almost as many people using Firefox as IE. Please see http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp which is just one example of a site showing the rising numbers of current FireFox users.

All of this being said there is not another company even close to Google right now. Considering the massive media push they made to release Chrome and the reported amount of people downloading it and using it, it will not be long in my opinion before they dramatically upgrade it and create add ons and other features that will quickly up the people using it and how it compares to the other 2 prominent current browsers in IE and FF.

I guess time will tell, but the reality is that Google is a monster and rarely fails.

Personally I like chrome. I use it probably 80% of the time. I love the simple look of it and the ease of use.  Im not big into eye candy on my browser ....as long it it takes me where I point it, Im pretty happy.  Im sure there are some who hate it , but thats true with any browser. On my forum I have several people always telling me to use the Avant browser because they love it.... I tried it, and wasn't impressed, so I told them that and they said....WHAT !!... Its the best browser ever.... But for me... good ole IE and Chrome is my cup of tea

BTW... Im in a smiley posting mood today and Jim didnt have the ones I needed to express myself

Finally downloaded chrome as well as the latest opera. All new functions of Ultra work in both browsers.

I have just swung over to Chrome to see what is it like- OK, new toys take a it of getting used to but one thing I have found is that now using a WoWUltra 1.15 forum yourmodelrailway , when replying; font types; spellchecker; some of the format buttons, etc, usable under IE have gone. The same occurs for this WoW forum.
To me, some of IE facilities of which I, & I think many of us use, are no longer in Chrome.
