- HP Pavilion Elite m9200z PC with TV/PVR - Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit) - AMD Athlon(TM) 64 X2 5600+ dual-core - 2.8GHz - 2GB DDR2-800MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024) - 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400, DVI-I, VGA adapter,HDMI - No Modem - 750GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive - LightScribe 16X max. DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive - 15-in-1 memory card reader, 2 USB, 1394, video, audio - ATSC-NTSC TV tuner with PVR, FM tuner, remote - Integrated 7.1 channel sound w/front audio ports - HP keyboard and HP optical mouse i just got this a little over a month ago, still getting used to it. its the first AMD chip i've ever had. so far i can't tell any difference. i have two dells but decided to go with HP this time. IMO dell is not worth the extra $$ anymore. they're just another comp maker now.....and with very average componants and certainly as crappy customer service as anyone else. there simple is no premium in the premium price anymore. once upon a time they were the way to go, now a days you can get Much better value for your money.

I get mine made by a friend who works for PC World and he makes up custom PC's to whatever spec you need. I only know the basics of mine; XP & SP2 AMD Sempron 3300 processor, 2.04 ghz 2GB RAM ATI 9250 with DV output Probably due an upgrade, I usually get it done about every three years.

Well, it's big and black and says Dell on it. Optiplex 755 Dual core something 4 gig of Ram XP Pro Some gaming card with a fan A humongo flat panel monitor so I can see things better - though even with it big I see sheep a lot! LOL I just ask the techs at work what I need - go buy it - slam it in. It's my newest of 4...It looks like Mission Control in my living room! What I really want is a hot rod MAC...

Commodore 64. Got it in January of 1982 and it is still running great! It does have duck tape holding it together in the back, but I can live with that. It has a wicked fast 64 kilobytes of user RAM, Max memory of 512K, 16 colors at a resolution of 320 x 200 pixels, 8 color sprites, and sound that could rival a dedicated sound synthesizer of its day. ![]() I play advanced games on it in 1-D. It is awesome

It is not so much the computer but how fast Windows is running. I have all the useless Microsoft processes switch off, use a process guard, keep all the disk clusters in order and build it all on drive imaging. My clients think I have a super fast computer but I don't. Rod Last edited on Fri Jul 4th, 2008 02:23 am by Aussie |

Aussie wrote: It is not so much the computer but how fast Windows is running. Absolutely. Actually you do have a fast computer that can handle more tasks because useless ones are not running. I use a similar bag of tricks when configuring Linux servers. Over 50% of the processes on a stock install will never be used in normal operation. A lot of the Apache modules are taking up space. If you notice the Data 1 servers are just a little quicker than most of the smaller companies and a lot of the large ones. Good stuff.
