On the registration page we have to type that security code - 9 out of 10 times i couldnt read it, it took at least 20 attempts to register just to ask pre sale questions (not exagerrating).  Just to make you aware of this cause it could harm the product and from what i can see it looks good.:)

Hi Will,

Welcome to WowUltra! :)

The font we chose was picked for its difficulty to keep the spammers from registering. Thank you for pointing out that it has the tendency to scare away legitimate users. That was not our intention.

Ill talk it over with Jim :)

Di

If it were made easy, BOTS would easily pass through and become a huge nuisance. Ask me how I know.

It won't be "easy" by any means. I have already put the alternate font on another board still zero automated spam.

I did a lot of research on OCR routines and delayed the release of the captcha ultra uses about 6 months after a release of a similar mod by someone else.... on purpose. The new font is very tough.. the original was a paranoid move by me.

I see some sites with a "listen" feature. This would help I think.

We have a tendency not to utilize audio things at all unless specifically requested as mods. Neither one of us here turn our speakers on at all, always muted. Some of the noises that windows wants to make I find annoying plus I'm usually listening for the phone or the door or the baby crying....

Hope the public understands.

Yes I agree with that. Sound is almost always muted on my PC and laptops unless I want to listen to something specific.
