Okay folks, here it is. Jim switched me from the WOW server over to the Ultra servers here on Sunday night. I know it's not been long, but here is my observations so far;
Speed; Page load and posting times much faster now for everyone. I've had tons of PMs and posts on my forum already about this, all positive.
Forum Visibility on the web; This is the biggie for me. About 18 months ago, almost overnight I noticed my visitor stats dropped while on the previous servers. Also I noticed a drop in new members registering, from an average of about 30-50 a day to around 10-20 a day. Even the number of spammers (before the anti-spam mod) were significantly down, and we all know spammers will still register even if they don't like your forums topic.
Remember that this was almost overnight and as the post counts were still as high as ever from the existing members, I knew something was wrong, but when I enquired I was told everything was normal. Around this time many people on the same servers started complaining about members in other parts of the world not being able to see their forums and getting error pages instead. I got this as well, notably from members in Australia and that general part of the world, but also sometimes from the USA members. I know my forum was a middle sized one taking up space, but even tiny forums on the same servers were having the same problems.
Since we moved to the Ultra server, all of a sudden it's like a blocked artery has been cleared. Visitor stats are instantly way up again and the number of new (real) members registering is better than ever. Everyone everywhere can see the forum now, no error pages or time-outs at all.
E-Mail Notifications; Working freely and without any problems. Activation e-mails are all going out and no complaints about notification and activation emails. Up to just before the server change I was dealing with complaints every single day. A whole 18 months of it, day after day after day. All this is like a breath of fresh air after so long.
For what it's worth, I've no business connection with Jim here at all and had very little dealings with him at WOW (it was usually Marty I contacted) and I have to pay for my server space here just like the rest of you. It was James/TVDinner who suggested I give it a try here (thanks James) and I've always valued James input. To say I'm happy is an understatement and I just want to share that with everyone hosted here or thinking about hosting here..

because members could not access the board. Since my lease was up - I checked out my options and wheeeeeeeee - I blinked and not only was my wee forum moved but ALL my members could suddenly access too!!
