One of our members wants to change her user name. Can I do this successfully in admin for her, or will she have to re-register under her new name? If she does have to do this then her post numbers will go back to zero.

If she does have to do this then her post numbers will go back to zero. she doesnt need to re-register a new name. you can either do it from the admin panel or just click the person's name, view their profile then click the "edit profile" button and you can change their name from there

one suggestion. If you do decide to do this for the member, make sure to send them a separate email OR PM before you do it telling them that they will have to relog in with the new name. That might seem obvious to us, but many members then panic when they cant access the forum after the name change because they forgot they have to relog in, etc. just a thought.

James is right. I always send a member a message letting them know I'll be changing their name in about 24 hours.

I have a question concerning changing a members name. The members name no longer exists in my admin panel. I had a member request a name change and that line in the profile is gone. I know I used it before to change an admins name. Did I mess something up?

If so, have you tried checking in CPanel instead? You can search the WOW users list for the member and edit everything in their profile from there.
