Hi Everybody,

Di has asked me to post this so you all will know what's going on.  They are having major power outages in Ohio due to Hurricane Ike.  Di and Jim are currently completely without power.  Very strong and damaging winds are going on right now with torrential rain forecasted for tonight.

The servers are also in Ohio, there are generators for the servers but with the storm as strong as it is the generators may not last.

As you can imagine, Jim is chomping at the bit to get at his computer. He will be back on as soon as they get power back.

Please keep them in your prayers.

Liz

Edit to Add: Please do not bump old Chat threads or start new ones in the Chat section so that everybody sees this.  If you need to start a Chat thread, please start it in another forum for now and Di can switch it to here when they are able to get back on line.

Just looked at the radar and it appears the storm has left Ohio. Hopefully all of them are fine and power will be restored soon. We're thinking about you guys!

All that matters is that Jim and Di and their family are safe. Anything else can be fixed later on.

Thanks everyone, we are still without electric but everything is OK. Not nearly as bad as down Sissy's way but it is unusual in Ohio to get 60MPH winds without there being a twister attached.

The datacenter had enough diesel fuel to last a few days so they will be OK. They have some heavy hitters for clients that makes Data 1 look like a pimple so they have to be prepared.

YES!!! i am back online! *borrows some of Sissie's smilies*

I cannot believe all the damage that was done by the wind storm. lots of trees down. our gutter in the back has been torn completely off the outside wall :twich:

my kids were getting bored without the tv to distract them so thank you, God! and thank you everyone, for your thoughts and prayers!

*hugs*

Last reports from AEP was that approx. 650,000 customers were without power after the unusual wind storm. They claim to be able to bring everyone back in service by midnight Sunday. I guess that makes us lucky.
