If you have a pre-existing WoWBB site, can you switch over to WoW ultra without losing membership and post history?

I get the feeling that wow ultra is basically a new theme with a few upgrades or changes from the existing software.

You would have to define "few". There are many things we have done to the code that we haven't mentioned and some I have forgotton about... like editing posts brings you back to the post instead of the beginning of the thread.

So you are correct, but let me re word your statement:

"I get the feeling that wow ultra is basically 3 new themes and 6 different shades of shades, with a few dozen upgrades or changes from the existing software that have been thuroughly tested and will be supported where the base product will not support modifications or aftermarket themes."

As time goes on and more enhancements are added they will be tested then added to the code for free download to existing WowUltra customers and we will support the maintenance of the changes. We have a lot of changes planned.

Features list post: http://wowultra.com/forum/forum1/2.html

I've read just about everything. I love the new features. The owner of my site is not sure all this is necessary. He seems to want to stick with the same old 1.7 with just a new look or two. If it ain't broke, don't fix it he says.

Minus a dollar. Is the site in your profile the site in question? You do know you are part of the second largest WowBB board in history? I would have to get with the administrator (still Phil?) and see what kind of access I would have for the database before we seal any deals. :)

That's the one. What's the first largest WowBB board?
