It's been 12+ hours since the new spambot routine was implemented. No bogus registrations yet-

Over 24 hours now, one real registration and no spambots. We left our personal site (TCDI) unprotected for comparison, there were about 10 spambot registrations there today.

It looks like it is working!

I'm going to call it successful, the new routine is scaring the bots away just fine.

what i am finding on my TV board, where I keep adding every spam thing I can find, is that there are manual signups happening, or I think they are real people actually signing up with porn or medicine links etc. How low of a job is that??? What exactly is the title of that job?? LowLife Spam Sign Up person??

thank you, Jim...and btw, my wife & I both appreciate the disclaimer that comes with the new registration form:

You must be 13 years of age or older to register in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Cool deal... I don't like CAPTCHA personally but it seems to be working.

I don't like it either but I needed something quick. Also the choice of fonts and backgrounds makes the difference. The only option I feel the bots have is OCR and the font I used along with the random curves would make it very hard.
