So I signed up with NetZero to have internet until my cable is fixed. With NetZero I can’t connect to my forum or any forum on Wow’s servers. That’s why I thought WowBB went out of business. I didn’t realize the problem was on my end. I don’t know if the problem is with NetZero or Wow’s servers. I remember people saying some ISPs can’t connect to Wow’s servers. I’m not sure how I can correct this situation.
I’ve been thinking about switching to WowUltra for awhile now. I’ve just been waiting to see what the new version of Wow is going to be like. It looks like I’ll have to switch sooner than I thought. How soon do you think you could switch my forum over?

Switching speed would depend on where your "domain name" is held at. If you have control of it through a third party and can change the nameservers. If you can then it can be less tan 24 hours. If your name was bought with hosting through Wow then we have to apply for a transfer and sometimes that can take up to 10 days! We could do it immediately if you selected a new domain name.

I'm hoping you have control of your domain name?

Thanks for the info. I have my domain registered through GoDaddy. I’m not too fond about the new WowBB beta. Is that how the final version is going to be like?

From what I gathered the release was not going to change much other than everything should work.

All the Data 1 domains are through godaddy/wild west domains also. Switch servers tonight, have a board by tomorrow.

That doesn’t sound good about the new release of Wowbb. I think I’m about ready to switch to Ultra but I was wondering what happens to Wow’s default and default 2 themes when I switch. I’m wondering if I will lose my theme?

Yes you will lose your themes, the only thing an Ultra conversion uses is database, smilies and avatars. All other files are replaced 100%. I always save the old install in a folder in case someone had some custom javascript or links they want to be able to copy.

You might want to check out the "mystic" theme which will be free for download when you buy a license, it looks like something that would fit your board.

once you get the hang of the software, you will realize how easy it would be to re-create your theme :)

Thanks for the info. Does it have a visual stylesheet editor like on 1.7? I’m wondering if the colors can be adjusted on the stock themes.

yes, there is a theme editor with Ultra

feel free to create a Trial board and play with the software and the theme editor. If you end up creating a theme that you would like to use, we can transfer the theme over :)

That was the decider for me. To be fair, I did play with the beta and tried to like it, but I couldn't take to it. Having no choice of server was what really started me looking around for a new home.

Hi TA, I see your site is being overhauled at the moment. Will you be changing forum software as well?
