This is just a preview of the Angelics skin that I am currently creating. It is a full page screenshot of the entire main page so I went ahead and linked to it from my site. I included some hand pointer images to show various mouse over states on the tab menus..........The only thing core file related that I had to touch was a small edit in the lang files for the online users area text phrasing.

I am not saying whether or not I will be releasing this :q, I am just showing what is possible with this great BB. Enjoy......anything is possible . Kudos to Jim and Di and everyone involved with wowUltra.

And here is the linky-poo : http://www.ascensiondenied.com/images/angelics.png

Oh my god I love your themes, lol. I loved them back in the Nexus days and it looks like you have not lost your touch. Cant wait to see what you come up with.

and speaking of that, do you have a projected launch date for your site?

The content of Ascension Denied is still under contiplation at the moment. I really do not think that it will be a skin site......very difficult to run a site, create skins, and then support them. My regular job is insanely time consuming as well.

I frequently vaporize into phantom skinner land as my love for templating takes me all over the web. The most difficult part of being a skinner for only one board is that the updates and constant patching leave very little time for me to actually come up with something new (and as an artist I must always expand or face stagnation). I feel that it may seem like I just up and abondoned everyone and I formally apologize for that. It was never my intention.....I pretty much did a complete re-write of the wowBB templates and the conversion of all of my skins from new version to new version was daunting to say the least. Plus I really didn't like where wowBB was going (or not going) at that time.

The boards that I work with the most are mainly the ones that offer detailed step-by-step manual upgrades as an option to "here's the new version.....now go and replace all of your files, enjoy lol". In all actuality the only *safe* way to skin boards like that is for the skinner to limit him/herself to simply changing stylesheets and images. I will not do that.....it is a waste of my free time. I like variety, and that is what templating is plain and simple; make your site look and feel the way you want it to and not be bound to a coloring book where you must stay within the established lines.

----Intermission....get up and walk around ;)----

Respect is the main reason why I am hesitant to just jump in here and start ripping it up. Wowultra has a good thing going here and while I am sure everyone would enjoy the types of new styles and skins that I could create, The templating and upgrading system is not yet at a stage that you all could continue to enjoy them in my absence. I am not trying to float my own boat, just making a point. If just editing a text links color spins off into a 10+ post topic.....then I could just imagine what one of my header mods would do hahahaha. I have too much respect for Jim and Di (I'm not forgetting about you either Bouttime; you are a trooper and a great skinner).

If you need something done to your board, I am here.....Just remember to think about future un-assisted upgrading before you ask

I understand your thinking. Here is a question. Why not just theme and work directly with the coder of the software (Jim) and make your wonderful themes that DO work with each upgrade. You have the ability to do that here at Ultra because Jim IS NOT Aycan, and that is a great thing.

The most horrible text renderer for the pc.....safari :)

I don't count sea monkey since it is part of the mozilla family.

I wouldn't use safari to test unless it was on a mac which I wouldn't doubt if yours is.

I know that firefox in KDE or Gnome is way different than firefox for windows.

Likewise If I had a mac I wouldn't test in IE on it.

I would rather test in safari on a mac than opera on windows since safari is currently edging Opera in user base.

Yes my point exactly. It's different from safari found on a Mac.

Very different.....I am looking at both safari's right now (apple rox of course lol....everything is sooooo damn pretty). IE blurs the text a bit, but the safari on windows is more like a smudge.....very nasty. As far as the nicest looking font style, I would have to say tahoma hands down for me. Verdana just looks a bit choppy in FF to me.

Arial is a close second, but it unbolds at 10px and lower (not going to get into em's at the moment lol).

:)
