Um. No. I don't think so. Jackson is always crystal about his politics and using his song in this context would seriously damage his calm. Just the fact it was used without his permission would get his dander up. I have never seen him make a move that he was not seriously down with. I have all the respect in the world for the guy. But I am a huge Jackson supporter and in my eyes he can do no wrong, so who knows, you could be right on the money! LOL

It's irresponsible of anyone including government officials to assume that they can freely use anyone's copyrighted material. Not knowing anything about Browne's political preferences I would have tagged him as a McCain supporter if I had heard "running on empty" in an ad. The proper way is to get hold of the artist and simply ask them. There are 3 answers... no, yes, and it will cost you this much.
